Reign in Life

Reign In Life

For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:17

Adam’s offence, treason, disobedience against God caused death to reign. But the benefits of being in Christ are much more than the consequences that befell the human race as a result of Adam’s sin.

The Amplified Classic version of Romans 5:17 says, “For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”

The scripture above says we will reign in life through Jesus Christ. Kings reign! Christians are royal priesthood [see 1 Peter 2:9]. When you reign in life through Jesus Christ, your addictions don’t reign—sin has no dominion over you; anger doesn’t dominate you; your emotions don’t rule you—you don’t just lose your temper and go crazy. This is powerful! You don’t reign in life because of your own strength or merit, but because of Jesus Christ—because you are in Him. Praise God! When you reign in life, lack doesn’t reign in your life, poverty doesn’t. you reign in life through Jesus over every difficulty, over every storm.

Now, I’m not saying you won’t encounter challenges in life, because there would be challenges. The enemy will try to attack you, but in the midst of it all, you stand on who you are in Christ—you need to stand your ground and say, “I am in Christ Jesus; I will not be moved!” Storms would come, oppositions would come, but guess what, “you win!”

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
2 Peter 1:2-3

Everything you need to live and enjoy life here on earth, everything you could possibly need has been made available in Christ. The Bible says God has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness. Everything you need to live a godly life has been made available to you—you are the righteousness of God in Christ. Righteousness was a gift given to you; healing was a gift; your prosperity was a gift—these gifts were purchased for you at the cross.

Receive God’s gift and reign in life!
