Seven Steps To Receiving The Holy Spirit

This lesson has a twofold purpose:

To help those who have not yet received the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
To help spirit filled believers pray with those who are seeking to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Any lay person can take the following steps and get people filled with The Holy Spirit.

Step 1: Help the believer to see that God has already given the Holy Spirit and that it is now up to the person to receive. Acts 8:14-15 and Acts 19:1-6

Step 2: Anyone saved already is qualified to receive The Holy Spirit. Acts 2:37-38

Step 3: Tell the people that when you lay hands on them they should be ready to receive The Holy Spirit by faith now. Hebrew 11:1

Step 4: Tell them what to expect as they receive The Holy Spirit. Acts 2:4, 10:46 and I Cor. 14:2-4

Step 5: Tell /assure them that they will not receive and evil spirit. Luke 11:11-13

Step 6: Tell the candidate to yield to The Spirit by opening their mouth to speak unknown language not their native language. John 7:37-39

Step 7: Ensure that the candidate is not distracted by noise or multiple instructors

Memory Verse: Ephesians 5:18 “And do not be drunk with wine but be filled with The Holy Spirit.”

Read a chapter of the New Testament and write out two lessons learnt
