Posper in famine

Flourishing In Famine

The time for you to prosper is now!

This is not the first famine in the land, but believers are already winners regardless of the circumstances.

“For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the Lord of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch. But to you who fear My name. The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; And you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.
Mal 4:1-2 (NKJV)

Satan is burning the world with violence, pandemic, fear, incurable sickness and diseases, panic, anxiety, poverty. But believers don’t need to worrywe are those who fear the Lord. There’s no incurable disease in Christ; no poverty; no lackthere’s no problem facing you that has not been taken care of by Jesus Christ. When Jesus Christ died, He died for everything. He was made sin for us, He took away our sin. There’s no addiction you’re dealing withsexual addictions, drug addictions, social media addictions and the likesthat Jesus has not healed.

The world is helpless; the coronavirus pandemic threw the leaders of this world into disarray. The world is burning with so much evil—violence, sickness, suicide, kidnapping, murder, terrorism; but God has a plan for His children. When there was darkness in Egypt, there was light in Goshen. [see Exodus 10:22-23]

There’s nothing happening in Nigeria and even the whole world right now that is new—there’s nothing new under the sun. In Bible times, there was a season of scarcity that led people to kill and eat their children.

There was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, in Gerar.  Then the Lord appeared to him and said: “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land of which I shall tell you. Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.” So Isaac dwelt in Gerar. Genesis 26:1-6 (NKJV)

Famine is severe shortage, absolute scarcity, dryness, economic downturn. The period of famine is usually very hard and trying. Many people who don’t know God suffer needlessly as a result. Famine brings about panic, uncertainty, hopelessness, despondency. When people are despondent, they make foolish decisions—they steal, they beg, they relocate…

The Bible says, “the Just shall live by faith [Romans 1:17];”. “We walk by faith, and not by sight [2 Corinthians 5:7].”

The solution to famine is faith in God’s faithfulness and love. When you trust God’s faithfulness and love, you will not relocate except He tells you to do so. Nigerians are always looking to relocate; the average Nigerian just wants to get out of this country—anywhere outside Nigeria seems appealing, even if they have to live like a slave abroad. The solution to your problem is not relocation—it’s not a geographical change of environment. In Genesis 26:1-6, Isaac was responding to the famine situation in Gerar by sight, as he was contemplating relocating to Egypt before God appeared to him.

The solution to famine

The solution to your problem is not in America, Europe, Ghana, or even Cotonou. The solution to your problem is faith in God. You don’t have any problem; all you need is faith in God. You can build faith in different areas; you can build faith for healing and have no faith for prosperity; you can build faith for prosperity and have no faith for protection—you build faith for prosperity but you are not safe because of the fear of bandits or kidnappers; you can build faith for safety and have no faith for healing. You need to build faith for all areas of your life, and the only way to build faith is by hearing the Word of God. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God [Romans 10:17],” There’s always fear whenever there’s famine; fear is the reason why most people are always looking to escape to another country—a place where they think they can be assured.

A lot of people cannot bring themselves to put their faith in an unseen God; don’t be “the doubting Thomas” who wants to see before believing. Faith believes without seeing; faith believes the naked Word of God; faith takes hold of the Word of God that says, “And my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. [Philippians 4:19]” The scripture did not say God will supply all your needs according to Canada’s riches, or American’s riches—but according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. God has never failed, and He will never fail. God is rich!

He will save you from death in time of famine, from the power of the sword in time of war. You will be safe from slander and have no fear when destruction comes. You will laugh at destruction and famine; wild animals will not terrify you.
Job 5:20-22 (NLT)

Satan is a thief—he has come to steal, kill and destroy. When there is famine, people become fearful and desperate to do anything to get out of the situation.

When people are facing challenges, they tend to complain and say things that would further sabotage them. God said we should laugh at famine and destruction; but you rarely see anyone do that, rather they curse and shift blames. Stop looking up to man to provide for you; put your faith in God for your provision.

Thinking and talking about the famine is not going to make the famine go away, rather, it will make you feel more depressed. Renew your mind with the Word of God, so that your thoughts and words will line up with the Word of God. The children of Israel travelled through the wilderness for forty years and didn’t lack a thing, even their shoes didn’t wear out.

For the Lord your God has blessed you in everything you have done. He has watched your every step through this great wilderness. During these forty years, the Lord your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing. Deuteronomy 2:7 (NLT)

Even under the law, God cared so much about His people, how much more now that we are in the new covenant, ratified and sealed by the Blood of Jesus. Your prosperity is not based on the economy of any nation, but on the economy of heaven—it is based on covenant. It is God who gives you the power to get wealth [Deuteronomy 8:18].

There was a time in the old Testament when God commanded His people not to work for a year, yet they had enough supplies for three years. [see Leviticus 25:20-22]. You serve a God that is so powerful that nothing can stand in His way, and if you will rely on Him, you will have more than enough, because He is the El-Shaddai, the fully breasted One. So, stop being carnally-minded, thinking only about the natural things you can see and hear; for to be carnally-minded is death, but to be spiritually-minded is life and peace [Romans 8:6]. The lack of food is not the biggest storm, but your mindset, for the enemy is continuously waging war in your mind to make you fearful. There are laws operating on earth, but the highest of them all is the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 (NKJV)

You can live in total freedom

The law of sin and death includes, sickness, disease, poverty, famine in the land, fear, anxiety, etc. The law of sin and death is under the governing power of Satan. But there is a superior law, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus under the governing power of the Holy Ghost. When you get born again, you cross from death to life, you are now operating under this superior law—the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. But if you are not born again, you are operating under the law of sin and death—so you are subject to this natural world—poverty, sickness, premature death, sin, and above all, you are subject to spending eternity in hell; you can make a change now by getting born again.

Prayer of Salvation:

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV)

Pray Now:

“In the name of Jesus Christ, I believe in my heart and I confess with my mouth, Jesus Christ is the Son of God that died for my sins; I believe He was buried, and on the third day, He was raised from the dead for my justification. Jesus, I call on You right now, come into my heart.”

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

You are now born again now. You’ve made a switch now; you are now subject to the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.

Pray for God to lead you to the right church where you can be nourished spiritually.

I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the Lord.
Jeremiah 23:4 (NKJV)
